You’d be forgiven for thinking that Lake Bled, Slovenia, wasn’t real. Photographs of its azure waters, forested edges and tiny island complete with fairy tale church could easily be the construct of some very talented people and whole lot of photoshopping.
I stared equally as incredulously at a photo of Bled I found on Pinterest (my constant source of travel inspiration and cause of many ridiculous adventures). Perhaps it only looked so gorgeous from this one angle, or perhaps it was an old photo. Even if that was the case I just had to go there.
So because of that photo I took my camera to Slovenia for a week, where Lake Bled really does exist, and really does look like that. Where I hiked up a little peak knowing that the angle of light was great and hoping I could get a clear view. At the top was one of the best views I have ever seen (see above). But more on that in my next posts…
And here’s the photo that inspired it (by eserkansozer on flickr):

Wow indeed. Can’t wait to see your pictures!
Awe-inspiring! The place and your photography – both are spectacular!
Thank you very much!!! I am absolutely in love with Lake Bled, and Slovenia in general :)
Based on what all I’ve seen in your photographs, I’m not surprised! :)
